Pianist Alexei Volodin

Valokin regularly cooperates with today’s first-class orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the Lebyschebu Merchant Building Pipeline, the Zurich City Hall Orchestra, and the London Symphony Orchestra. The conductors he has worked with include Gezif, Martel, and Xia Famous artists such as Iraq, Fedosheyev, Sinaski, Pletnev, Bichkov, Foster, Yanovsky, and so on.

 

Recent important performances include collaborations with the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Mariinsky Theater Orchestra, and the Scala Theater Academy Orchestra. The published recordings include collaborations with the Doolin Italia Broadcasting Corporation Symphony Orchestra, the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, the Dutch Philharmonic, the Rotterdam Philharmonic, the Royal Philharmonic, the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, and the Santiago Municipal Symphony Orchestra in Chile.

 

Valodin is also very active in recital performances. He has participated in the international piano series in London, as well as in Vienna Concert Hall, Vicenza Olympic Theater, Italy, Gubenjin Foundation, Lisbon, Frankfurt Theater, Munich Hercules Hall, Berlin Philharmonic Hall, Dutch Royal Hall, and other important venues. Valodin is also a frequent visitor to many music festivals, such as La Roque Diantron, Day of Fever, St. Petersburg White Nights, Moscow Easter, and other music festivals. The 2014/15 music season was also invited to become the world’s top Russian Mariinsky Theatre. Artist in residence.

 

Valokin has left recording works for many brands, such as Live Classics, ABC Classics, Challenge Records, etc. His album of solo works by Schumann, Ravel, and Scriabin, has been written and commented in "Piano News" magazine: "This recording shows that Valodin is today's best pianist... quite Outstanding". His earlier Chopin recordings won five-star awards in Diapason magazine, and recently he also released Rachmaninov's solo albums.

 

Valodin was born in St. Petersburg, Russia (then called Leningrad) in 1977. He studied under Shalina and Chakman at the Gnezin Conservatory, and Visharaz at the Moscow Conservatory. In 2001, he participated in Italy. Lake Como International Piano Academy, and won the Swiss Anda International Piano Competition in 2003. Valodin is now also a Steinway artist.

 

Since 2012, Valodin has been an integrated management artist for HarrisonParrott Ltd., a leading British art institution.
